In its most literal sense LED is an acronym for “light emitting diode”, which is a semiconductor diode that converts applied voltage to light. It is the latest in very few lighting technological advances since Edison popularised the incandescent bulb over 130 years ago.

In a more practical sense LED represents a revolution in the way we light our world, providing an efficient, green and safe alternative to traditional lighting technologies.

LED lights are available for use in all applications and on average use 90% less electricity and last 5 times longer than conventional lights. In addition they are fully recyclable, generate very little heat, and minimal ultra violet light, making them significantly safer while at the same time reducing carbon emissions and lessening our impact on the environment.

Using LED technology can make a big difference by significantly reducing your overheads and helping our environment.

Efficient – LED Lights use less electricity, which saves you money.
Environmental – LED lights are a ‘green’ solution to conventional lights.  They are fully recyclable and omit no toxic chemicals so are better for the environment.
Safe – LED lights generate very little heat, and minimal ultra violet light, making them significantly safer.

EG:  If we consider a business or residence which has 100 50W halogen lights which operate 12 hours a day 5 days a week. This consumer would SAVE the following by switching to 100 Polaris XL lights: Electricity per annum: $3079.44 (at $0.15 per kWh) Carbon Emissions per annum: 12.93 tonnes (QLD Emission factor 0.63 kgCO2 /kWh)
