Andromeda Series Overview
The inherent benefits of LED technology are showcased in LED Light Works incredibly versatile Andromeda Series.
Our Andromeda series of luminaries has quickly risen to the forefront of our innovative product portfolio. This is due to a variety of factors including quality, versatility, and benefits, both financial and environmental, of employing LED technology.
QUALITY
The quality of an LED extends from its design, the raw materials used in its construction, the production process, and finally the certification which it carries.
The Andromeda Series is designed to the strengths and requirements of LED technology. Many other LED luminaires inexplicably are being designed to look like traditional HID technology. This leads to problems with thermal management and a missed opportunity to take advantage the design benefits presented by LEDs. Our Andromeda Series is low profile, lightweight, and thoroughly vented thanks to our isolated pixel approach.
The materials used in our product are hand chosen and the components are purpose built to support the demands imposed by the longevity of our product.
- Aluminium 6063 (marine grade) is employed its strength, resistance to corrosion, lightweight, and heat sinking ability.
- Bracket materials are specifiable and include ST12, 304SS, and 316SS options.
- Transformers and wiring are purpose built for 50,000+ hours and the harshest conditions.
A trend of late in the industry which is worrying is to employ high quality components, predominantly chips, and then carry out the encapsulation process and assembly in subpar facilities. This of course seriously compromises the end product. The Andromeda series employs high intensity Nichia chips (from Japan), which are binned and encapsulated in a state of the art laboratory. This ensures the quality inherent to the chips is preserved through the production process into the finished product. The same care is applied to all aspects of our luminaires assembly leading to an exceptional product.
Our production facility also boasts its own photometric laboratory, able to ensure product performance and produce IES files as required for any of the 3000+ power/lens combinations in this series.
Thanks to our innovative production, design and the use of high quality components our Andromeda series carries the following certifications:
- LED Light Works is a member of the Lighting Council of Australia and their Solid State Lighting Scheme
- cETLus – Intertek certification for the North American market
- C-Tick – ACMA certification (supplier N25539)
- Regulatory Compliance Mark (supplier#5433)
- LM79 – DOE (US) – electrical and photometric measurement of SSL
- LM80 – DOE (US) – lumen maintenance of LEDs
- RoHS – restriction of hazardous substances
- CE – Certificate Europeanne
VERSATILITY
The Andromeda Series of luminaires is highly versatile, and are employed in applications as diverse as floodlighting, high bay, low bay, vehicle and vessel lighting, street lighting, petrol station lighting, park and pole mount lighting, aquarium lighting, and in virtually every other area you might find an HID luminaire.
The Andromeda series is currently available in 4 articulations:
- Flood Lighting (wall/ceiling mount bracket, or suspension) – this articulation is used in both high bay and low bay applications.
- Petrol Lights – for ceiling mounting or recessed mounting in petrol stations.
- Park Lights – pole mount lights – adjustable diameter pole mount luminaires.
- Street Lights – cobra head street lights for pole mounting and street/road lighting applications
In each articulation we offer 31 power combinations (in 80lm/W or 90lm/W chip options), as well as 9 IESNA lens options. CCT (colour correlated temperature) options including our standard 4500K, Amber (turtle safe lighting), and a high 8500K for aquarium applications are available as well.
All totalled this provides ~3,300 options for this single series of luminaires, with one certain to be perfect for your application.
