CBJ The Health Club – Brisbane

LED Light Works recently supplied Andromeda Flood Lights, Corona Panels , and PolarisST MR16s for a retrofit project at CBJ The Health Club which included Maximise Physiotherapy, and Teddies Playhouse. The installation was carried out by Johnny B’s Electrical, who have become specialists with integrating our LED solutions into existing infrastructure.

In total 22 AndromedaXP Flood-120W luminaires were provided to replace the 400W Mercury Vapour high/low bays in the gym area, 22 Corona 39W 1200*300 Panels were used to replace the twin t8 troffers in both Maximise and Teddies and 9 ProcyonST 9W-E27-W180 for the Spin Cycle Class area. In addition 30 PolarisST 3W MR16s were used to replace spotlights in the washrooms and reception area.

The result of the retrofit was:

  • Better light quality – the higher CCT of the Andromeda series and the homogenous light from Corona panels resulted in a “cleaner” feel to both the gym area and the satellite businesses.
  • Massive reduction to electricity usage. Preliminary data would suggest lighting associated savings up to ~70%, LED Light Works will publish concrete financial savings figures after 12 months.
  •  Elimination of lighting associated maintenance costs – savings predicted to continue for the next 5 five years.
  •  No UV radiation emitted – particularly important to gym and childcare clientele.
  •  No mercury recycling costs – currently the rate is $350 per kg of lamp.
  •  Significant CO2-e reduction of ~42 tonnes per annum.

These positive changes were all achieved with a payback period under three years.
LED Light Work congratulates CBJ The Health Club for its commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and providing members and employees a safer and UV free environment.
